Pack it up!
Love this 70L carry-on! Use as a duffle or a backpack. Just over 3 lbs, 26x13x12.
Worth the splurge imo. Nothing worse than luggage that rips or tears or the straps break or zippers get stuck. You get what you pay for and this brand never lets me down.
50L duffle/pack is a great carry-on, especially for those African bush planes. Extras include rainfly and laptop compartment. 4 lbs, 26x14x11.75
Great weekender duffle/backpack or throw it in your carry-on to bring home souvenirs! Surprisingly durable considering the price. 42L
All the little extras that make travel more comfortable
These inexpensive cubes keep everything organized and they come in several different colors to use for each traveler or to make finding items easy.
Create your own travel container sizes with this Cadence starter pack. Make a small one for pills or a large one for sunscreen, etc. Choose your own colors and lables. Magnets stick them all together for easy organization. In my experience they are indestructible and they don't leak.
I did some research on this before going to Africa. This water bottle w/ filter got the best reviews by far. Pricey but you're paying for the privilege of NOT getting water born illnesses while on vacation. Priceless.
Long-haul flights mean immobility for several hours. These will help prevent blood clots and your feet and ankles will thank you.
I love this sleep mask for long-haul flights for the comfort factor and the adjustable strap. Comes in a 3-pack.
Occasionally you have to do laundry in your bathroom sink on vacation, especially if you're doing COO. The stopper doesn't always work on the sink so bring one of these and you're good to go. $6 for a 2pack.
TSA approved toiletries bag. Sturdy and leak-proof. Love that it's clear so I can see what I'm looking for. $8 for a set of two.
Braving the elements
North Face rain jacket/hoodie. Water-repellant, breathable, dry vent, made with recycled material, and affordable! Comes in several different colors.
I've had this Columbia rain jacket for over 20 years. Needless to say, if I ever purchase another one, it will be a Columbia.
Any heavy-duty gardening or work gloves will work for gorilla trekking. Here's the ones I used to protect against those stinging nettles. Got mine at Target.
Tencel Jersey Fit & Flare Dress by Quince - so comfortable! 5 different colors and IT HAS POCKETS! Does NOT dry quickly so keep that in mind.
I have several different Athleta skorts. Love the elastic waist! No wrinkling and quick-dry material makes these skorts perfect for travel.
Here I am in our home page cover shot from Spain.
Lightweight, packs up small, no wrinkles, a million different colors to choose from, comfortable/elastic waist. Quick-dry. Love!
WWF giraffe t-shirt, I got this as a Christmas present and wore it as a pj top in Africa. All proceeds from their apparel go towards conservation. Worth it!
Shoes - Boots - Sandals
The most comfortable hiking boots I've ever had. Merrell is my go-to for boots and they didn't let me down once again. Waterproof, 16.36oz.
Greg found these on clearance at our local outdoor store for $24 but they quickly became his favorite boots. Sometimes you get lucky! It definitely put Vasque on our radar.
